What kind of unleashed dog park could you build with $100,000?
Start thinking, because you have the chance to get it.
PetSafe, maker of dog doors and dog training products, is holding its first national Bark For Your Park contest. Entrants have the opportunity to nominate a community that needs an off-leash area. The winning community will get $100,000 towards the costs of building a dog park. As you can see in the photos below, PetSafe has built dog parks in communities before, but this is the first time that they’re going nationwide.
Here’s how the contest works: Between now and June 1, 2011, entrants in the lower 48 states can nominate a community. To nominate yours, go to www.BarkForYourPark.com and tell them in 300 words or less how your community would benefit from a dog park. Once the submission period is over, PetSafe will select 15 semi-finalists. These communities will be announced on July 13.
On July 13, voting begins and will run until August 3. This is your chance to show your community’s support and enthusiasm for a new dog park. For the first two weeks of the contest, PetSafe will post a leader board so you can see where your community stands in the voting. For the final week, July 27 through August 3, the leader board will go away as voting wraps up. But keep voting for your community – the community with the most votes wins the park!
After voting finishes, around August 5, PetSafe will announce which community has won the first-ever Bark For Your Park contest and will get $100,000 to build an unleashed dog park.
